Solo Dads

I attend an event for toddlers every Saturday morning and there I always see a young dad with his daughter and I've always admired his patience and caring of his daughter. His daughter always turns up looking healthy and clean and tidy and happy.

I'm commenting because when I look at this dad he reminds me of wayward men who smoke dope. Now he could be for all I know and I will never know otherwise.
But what I do know is that every time I see him with his daughter he reminds me of a great dad.

Thick criminals

Thankfully some criminals are thick! or is it that they are tired? Surely the shoplifter new that his dna would link him to Marie Jamieson's murder. Or was he tired of that mental "being on the run" feeling that surely criminals must experience when they don't get caught... always looking over their shoulder. What a fantastic outcome for an old case.. now all we need to do is get it to court and get the rightful convictions. mmmmmm, I won't hold my breath but I will hope.

Rape or an excuse for the boyfriend

I wish there never were false complaints about rape. I really do... if there weren't we could rely on the complaints being forwarded and we wouldn't all be so skeptical when faced with them.

Take the recent rape complaint (not formal yet though) against members of the English Rugby Team.
This woman could have been raped, whether she is a skank or a groupie or what it doesn't matter, rape is rape and you just can't do that.
But if there is a rape, why not get the complaint formal. I'm skeptical, it looks like game playing to me.
Here is a thought from Sharemynz (http://www.sharemynz.co.nz/) ..."In this case, with a name like Angel Barbie, you can't but help think that a) she got what she was looking for and b) what the hell were the blokes thinking taking home someone by that name?"
Firstly, are you saying she got raped because she was looking for it... surely not.. especially representing a company as I found no name on your newsletter that contained your thoughts, surely you are the director of Sharemynz. You are a brave person. Looking for fun or sex or having sex with a rugby player does not quite compute RAPE.
So whether she was raped or not, only she and the players know.

Parole Board Games

It appears the parole board might do something right... the operative work being MIGHT! For crying out loud, do we care that he has been doing well and seems disciplined...NOooooo... Should he be taking drugs.... NOoooooo, hello it's illegal...

What on earth is this "consideration of a postponement order". Make a decision, come on... do it. Tell these people that they broke the law (well in this case he brutally and sickenly wiped out several family members)... braking the law just doesn't quantify that action.

Not only did he do that but now he's braking the law again.... Say YES to the postponement order, come on... Do something right for the family.

Paris Dog Hilton

Nothing like a grown child, as surely we cannot call this trantrum princess an adult yet.

Although sometimes I must wonder, is she merely a shrewd business woman..... Naaaaaa, that thought didn't last long.

Surely if these shinannigans were purely for buisness she would get sick and tired of the babyish attitude she has to portray.

Well I guess people have to make money somehow.... or not.

Corrections department .... mistake or... what?

Department of Corrections just can't do anything right, well at least the media doesn't report on the good. I always thought if someone lost highly sensitive material, it was on purpose... no such thing as accidents....

And how do you lose it anyway.... just quickly leaving the office for a quick stroll and just happened to pick up this file on the way out and haven't secured it in any way... derrrrr

As a manager of other companies data I know full well what it means to carry sensitive material around and believe me, I never just pick up a file and walk around with it, it's secured in a satchel or brief case first.

And what happened to attention to detail... hello, I'm now half a file lighter... or ... what was that suttle sound of a file hitting the floor... lol

As for Goff "this could destablise those on the list"... who bloomin cares, if you are silly enough to offend what do you expect. And at what point have they shown that offenders are stabilised???

Fuel Costs

WeBuy.co.nz (fantastic advertising) is now calling for a boycott of the major fuel companies to show our protest to rising fuel costs. Economically it would costs half the drivers the savings they will make just to drive to these fuel outlets and even though a boycott of the major ones will hit their pocket for a day, lets face it, we'll all go back to our convenient outlet the day after.
If it's too expensive for you, try taking a bus, riding a bike, walking or even car pooling.

Must admit the options aren't the easiest or the most timely. Guess it comes down to our own priorities. Needless to say I haven't given up the car yet.

Peter McNamara vs Victim

While I think all victims should move on and disassociate themselves from past trauma's, I have to say "how on earth could a victim move on when parole boards let perpetrators go just one third of the way into a sentence".

In this situation I agree with the victim in her challenge. Not because the Parole board didn't give weight to her submission but to the fact that this man comitted a terrible crime and was sentenced accordingly. Let him serve a minimum of 50% of that time before even considering his release. Better yet let him serve the entire sentence, lets face it New Zealand sentencing is crap.

Once again the Parole board must have more information than anyone else in the country because I fail to see anyone who supported his release.

Pink Graffitti....

Wellington City Councillor Iona Pannett is concerned that taggers are being shamed (in the way German homosexuals were by the Nazis), saying that they would be associated with gay men.

But Ms Pannett is the only one silly enough to confuse sexual orientation with sociopathic behaviour....

What a fantastic Editorial ... can't laugh enough about how confused Pannett is.
I'm also wondering what she has against Gay men?

Gosh I'm sick of looking after perpetrators. Lets face it, if it works... USE IT! Tag those taggers!

Get hard...

What else can we come up with to pamper our kids these days... too cold to play netball here in Christchurch and they should be able to wear trackpants etc to keep warm.... They say surely it's a simple change for Christchurch Netball to change the rules and let them wear what they want under their uniform....

Are you laughing your socks off.... did you play netball in the cold? Invercargill must think we are whimps....
Before long they'll be running around in full long john uniforms with nets on the side of the courts so they don't hurt themselves...
How far is this pampering going to go...

Discriminators

In-work tax credits.... discrimination against beneficiaries....

Get a life... better yet - get a job. Isn't that what it's called; IN-WORK. Easy to work out, if you work you get a tax credit. If you don't work you get benefits.

If you don't like the fact that others are getting the In-work tax credit... don't winge, don't miss out, just get a job!

Let's not lose sight of the fact that those working have more costs than those that don't work, i.e. travel and childcare at least.
