In a recent newsfeed a father comments that Jurors aren't equipped to do a good job and that in the case concerning Lipine Sila where he killed this man's daughter, they only came to the guilty murder verdict by chance.Someone get that man onto a jury somewhere. Surely he hasn't been a part of this important service. Luckily I have served on jury service, although I probably would have commented even if I hadn't.
We have a justice system that works well in most cases (obviously not all - dig dig at the recent kahui case, although that had nothing to do with jurors). We can't just change the rules when it suits us.
In this case it actually worked, so who knows why he is bad mouthing the jurors. Those jurors worked long and hard at bringing the right verdict back to court. It's not easy taking time out of your home, work and personal life to challenge yourself to listen to the evidence, be pursuaded by the defence into thinking something completely different and then deliberate with a group of others to come to the same conclusion.
Lets be thankful to these jurors.
